SNUBA DAY // No Diving Certification Required...
Discover the Magic of SNUBA in Roatan
The Perfect Bridge Between Snorkeling and Scuba Diving
Experience the thrill of breathing underwater without the heavy equipment or the need for a dive certification. SNUBA (Surface Nucleated Underwater Breathing Apparatus) allows you to explore Roatán’s world-famous reefs at depths of up to 20 feet, all while your air supply floats safely on a raft at the surface.
Guided by our certified professionals, you’ll glide weightlessly through crystal-clear waters, getting a «diver’s eye view» of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. Whether you’re watching a sea turtle swim by or admiring the vibrant coral gardens, SNUBA offers an effortless and unforgettable underwater adventure for the whole family.
Why Choose SNUBA for Your Roatán Adventure?
-
No Experience Needed: If you can swim and breathe through a regulator, you can SNUBA! No prior diving experience or certification is required.
-
Go Deeper: Unlike snorkeling, where you are limited to the surface, SNUBA lets you stay down at the reef level to see the marine life up close.
-
Comfort & Safety: You aren’t weighed down by heavy tanks on your back. Your air follows you on a floating raft, and a professional guide is by your side the entire time.
-
Family Friendly: It’s an ideal activity for families with children (usually ages 8+) and couples looking for a unique shared experience.
- Roatán is home to the second-largest barrier reef in the world, which makes it one of the premier locations on the planet for SNUBA due to the incredible visibility and shallow reef plateaus.
🌊 What to Expect
-
Easy Learning (15–20 Mins): Your adventure starts with a short safety briefing on land. You’ll learn how to breathe through the regulator and how to use hand signals to communicate with your guide.
-
The Gear Up: You’ll be fitted with a mask, fins, and a lightweight SNUBA harness. No heavy tanks on your back—those stay on the raft above you!
-
The Descent: You’ll start in shallow water to get comfortable. When you’re ready, you can follow the air line down to depths of up to 20 feet.
-
Guided Exploration (30–40 Mins): Your certified guide stays with you the entire time, pointing out colorful parrotfish, lobsters, and maybe even a sea turtle.
-
Pure Freedom: Unlike snorkeling, you don’t have to keep coming up for air. Unlike scuba, there is no long certification course. It’s just you and the ocean!
🎒 What to Bring
-
Swimwear & Towel: Come ready to jump in! Most locations provide a place to change, but wearing your swimsuit under your clothes is easiest.
-
Reef-Safe Sunscreen: To protect our beautiful Mesoamerican Reef, we only allow biodegradable, mineral-based sunscreens (look for Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide).
-
Underwater Camera: A GoPro or waterproof phone pouch is highly recommended. If you don’t have one, ask us about our Photo Packages!
-
Cash for Tips & Extras: While we accept cards for bookings, small USD bills (in good condition) are best for tipping your guides or buying a cold drink afterward.
